What it is and where it fits.
The Hero (model MX5400) is Hyosung’s high-capacity freestanding ATM for off-premise sites, sold to both retailers and financial institutions. It pairs a 15-inch “infinity” screen with a spray-type dispenser that can hold anything from one 1,000-note cassette to four 2,000-note cassettes.
It comes in two software versions: Windows CE 7.0, and Windows 10, which adds a touchscreen, denomination selection and screens you can customize. Security includes multi-level anti-skimming, a locked-down operating system, whitelisting and encryption, with a redesigned safe door and an optional UL 291 Level 1 safe.
Hyosung also added antimicrobial features, including violet-blue light on the PIN pad and cash tray. Note that a Hyosung dealer bulletin in January 2026 reported a discontinuation notice for the MX5400, with orders taken through May 31, 2026, so new units may be limited. Ask us for current pricing.

Before you choose it
- Hyosung publishes the weight as 617 lbs, so check floor load and delivery access before you commit.
- The Windows CE and Windows 10 versions behave differently. Decide which features you need before comparing quotes.
- A January 2026 dealer bulletin reported that Hyosung was winding down MX5400 orders, so availability of new units may be limited.
- For a single-store site with modest volume, a smaller retail model is usually simpler to own and load.
