Free ATMs for shopping centers and strip malls.
A taquería, a nail salon, a laundromat and a barber on the same row: plenty of the tenants in a neighborhood center take cash. One ATM in the common area serves all of their customers.
The case for cash
Why an ATM makes sense for a shopping center.
Shoppers at a strip mall or neighborhood center rarely visit just one store. They park once, grab lunch, drop off laundry, get a haircut and pick up something from the market on the way out. Many of those tenants accept cash, and some prefer it. When a shopper has only a card, the cash moments get skipped — or the shopper drives off to find an ATM and finishes the errands somewhere else.
BayTM places, loads and services ATMs at shopping centers, strip malls and retail plazas across California, working directly with property owners and managers. One machine in a common area serves customers of every tenant, without any single store having to host it. The machine, the cash and the service are ours.
Where cash shows up
Where cash comes up.
- I
One machine, many tenants
A single ATM in a walkway, breezeway or corner unit gives shoppers cash for whichever store they visit next. Tenants that take cash benefit without each needing a machine of their own.
- II
Cash-preferred and cash-only shops
Food counters, salons, barbers, laundromats and small markets often see customers who want to pay or tip in cash. An ATM a few steps away keeps that option open for everyone on the property.
- III
Every errand in one stop
Shoppers who can get cash on site can finish their list on your property instead of leaving mid-visit to find a machine.

Placement
Where we’d put it
- In a common area with steady foot traffic between stores: a covered walkway, breezeway, courtyard or the end of a row near parking.
- Visible from the lot and from several storefronts, well-lit and covered by the property’s cameras.
- Where power and connectivity can reach it cleanly. For outdoor and semi-outdoor spots, we assess weather exposure, lighting and security during the location review.
Operations
How we run it
- The agreement is with the property owner or manager. We coordinate installation timing and access so tenants aren’t disrupted.
- Cash levels are monitored remotely and loading is scheduled around the center’s busy days, like weekends and holiday shopping stretches.
- All loading, maintenance and repairs handled by our team, with 24/7 technician support — no cost, no lease and no minimum volume.
Questions
Questions we hear from property owners and managers.
Who hosts the ATM at a shopping center — the owner or a tenant?
Either can work. For a common-area placement, we work with the property owner or manager, since the machine sits on shared space. A single tenant can also host a machine inside their own unit under their own agreement.
Do tenants have to do anything?
No. BayTM loads, monitors and services the machine. Tenants can simply point customers to it.
Can an ATM go outdoors in a walkway?
Often, yes. Covered and indoor spots are most common. For outdoor and semi-outdoor spots, we assess weather exposure, lighting, power and connectivity during the location review and recommend the right position.
What does it cost the property?
Nothing. The machine, installation, cash loading, connectivity, maintenance and repairs are provided at no charge, with no monthly fee and no minimum transaction volume. Customers see any convenience fee on screen before they confirm.
We manage several centers. Can you place machines at each?
Tell us about each property. We review every location individually and recommend placements where they make sense.
