What it is and where it fits.
The Halo II (model MX2600SE) is a compact freestanding ATM from Hyosung’s current retail lineup. Hyosung pitches it for “locations ranging from small convenience stores to high-end retail,” and its footprint backs that up: 15.7 inches wide and 23.4 inches deep, so it fits beside a register or at the end of an aisle without taking over the floor.
It replaced the original Halo, which in turn followed the long-running NH-1800 series. Hyosung describes the Halo II as offering an improved UL 291 business-hours safe with added break-in protection, an EMV card reader, a PCI 3.0 keypad and TLS-encrypted communications. It uses parts that are compatible with Hyosung’s other retail models, which helps with repairs and spares.

- Convenience stores
The narrow cabinet fits near the register or the entrance, where a small store has the least floor to spare.
- Liquor stores
A cash-heavy counter business with limited space is exactly the footprint the Halo II was built for.
- Bars & nightclubs
Compact enough for an entry vestibule or coat check, so guests can get cash for cover and tips without leaving.
- Barber shops & salons
Small shops where clients often tip in cash can add an ATM without rearranging chairs or stations.
Before you choose it
- Hyosung lists 1,000- and 2,000-note cassette options for the Halo II, while the Force can be upgraded to three cassettes. Busy sites may need loading more often.
- The safe is a UL 291 business-hours safe. For higher-risk or higher-volume sites, a model with a Level 1 safe option (Force, MX5200SE) is worth comparing.
- The 10.1-inch screen is smaller than the 12.1-inch screen on the Force, which matters if you plan to run on-screen promotions.
- Hyosung doesn’t list it as weatherized. It is an indoor machine.

What’s the difference between the Halo II and the Force?
Hyosung publishes the same height, width and depth for both (56.4 × 15.7 × 23.4 inches). The Force adds a larger 12.1-inch screen, can be upgraded to three cassettes and offers a Level 1 safe option. The Halo II is the simpler, lighter choice for smaller sites.
How is the Halo II different from the original Halo?
The original Halo (NH2600) was shorter and lighter: 50.2 inches tall and 176 lbs, against 56.4 inches and 265 lbs for the Halo II. Hyosung describes the Halo II’s safe as improved, with added break-in protection, and it adds TLS-encrypted communications.
Does the Halo II take chip cards and tap-to-pay?
It has a dip hybrid card reader that is EMV Level 1 and 2 compliant, so it reads chip cards. Hyosung lists NFC as an option, so contactless depends on how a particular unit is configured.
