What it is and where it fits.
The NH-1800SE (the “Mini-Bank” 1800SE) was a later version of Nautilus Hyosung’s compact 1800 line, marketed as “the retail setting’s value leader.” The SE version brought a faster processor, a more robust lock mechanism on its UL business-hours safe and a dispenser upgrade path to 4,000 notes.
It has an 8-inch screen, 4 × 2 function keys and a dip card reader, with an EMV Level 1 and 2 compliant IC reader offered as an option. The standard setup is a single 1,000-note cassette, with an optional 2,000-note cassette that can be upgraded to two. With its topper it stands 65.3 inches tall.
Hyosung followed it with the Halo and then the Halo II, which ATM dealers now name as the 1800SE’s replacement.

- Convenience stores
Its small footprint suited corner stores with little floor space.
- Liquor stores
A compact machine near the counter covered cash-preferring customers without taking up shelf space.
- Restaurants
Diners who pay or tip in cash could use it without leaving, in a cabinet small enough for an entryway.
Before you choose it
- Many dealers now treat the 1800SE as end-of-life. Some list it as not meeting current network security requirements and without parts support.
- Whether a particular unit can still run depends on its card reader, keypad and software. The EMV reader was optional.
- The 8-inch screen and older platform limit on-screen promotions and newer features.

Is the Hyosung 1800SE still compliant?
Often not. Some ATM dealers now list the 1800SE as non-compliant with current U.S. network and security standards. Whether a specific unit can still run depends on its card reader, keypad and software, so tell us what yours has and we’ll give you a straight answer.
